Frequently-Asked Questions:
- How do I register my son/daughter to play? Players register through their local zone. Registration starts in early February. Players who miss registering may still be allowed to register,but they must contact their zone registrar to do so.
- How do I determine the zone in which I live? Please see the Zone Map.
- How do I know which league my son/daughter is in? Baseball players are categorized by their age as of January 1st of the current season’s calendar year. ◦Players who are six years old or younger on January 1 play in the Junior Rally Cap Division. ◦Players who are seven or eight years old on January 1 play in the Senior Rally Cap Division. ◦Players who are nine or ten years old on January 1 play in the 11U (Mosquito) Division of the 11U (Mosquito) League. ◦Players who are eleven or twelve years old on January 1 play in the 13U (Pee Wee) League. ◦Players who are thirteen or fourteen years old on January 1 play in the 15U (Bantam) League. ◦Players who are fifteen through seventeen years old on January 1 play in the 18U (Midget) League.
- Are the teams in the different leagues tiered? All the leagues use a tiered system except for the Rally Cap Divisions. Each zone is responsible for tiering its players after evaluations.
- How much does it cost to play? The cost of playing baseball in the city varies depending on the player’s age and the zone in which the player resides. Each zone sets its fees annually.
- What if we live outside of the city limits, but my son/daughter attends school in Saskatoon? Players living outside the city limits, which includes Greenbryre, must register with the Zone 5 baseball association that is closest to them. Please refer to the Baseball Saskatoon Residency Requirements Policy.
- Where are the games held? Each league has its own fields. ◦The Rally Cap Division plays at a number of diamonds throughout the city. ◦The 11U Division plays either at Sifton Park (Rusholme Rd. and Witney Ave.), Kilburn Park (Kilburn Ave. and 4th St. E.) or Riversdale Kiwani Diamonds (On Edmonton Ave between 31st and 33rd. ◦The 13U Division plays at Geoff Hughes Park which is located north of Holiday Park Golf Course (south of 11th St. W, between Ave U and Ave W), Sifton Park (Rusholme Rd. and Witney Ave) or Nutana Memorial Diamond. ◦The 15U Division plays at Nutana Kiwanis Park which is located near Market Mall (south of Holy Cross High School, east of McEown Ave.). ◦The 18U Division plays either at Cairns Field (south of 11th St. W. at Ave. P, north of Gordie Howe Bowl), Kate Waygood Park (Ave. W. South), or Edward McCourt Park (southeast corner of East College Park – access via Boychuk Drive, then Laurentian Drive, then Guelph Crescent).
